Lamborghini delivers the 100th unit of the Urus SUV.

Lamborghini India announced Tuesday that it had delivered the 100th unit of Lamborghini Urus. This SUV is a high-performance SUV that was first launched in India in January 2018. The Lamborghini Urus, priced at 3 crores (ex-showroom), is imported to India via the Completely Built Units (CBU). It was launched in September 2018 and received a positive response. Within one year, 50 units were dispatched. Urus was a front-mounted, twin-turbo V8 engine that produced 650 horsepower and 850 Nm torque.

Sharad Agarwal (Head at Lamborghini India) stated that the Urus had created an unrivalled position in the super-luxury car segment in India. This was not only by creating a new category but also by growing the segment.” Urus is a game-changer for Lamborghini in India and contributes to more than half of India’s brand volume. Agarwal highlighted that Urus could reach 100 kmph in just 3.0 seconds and has attracted interest from Tier 2 cities.

The Urus is a super sports car with an SUV body. It has six driving modes and comes in a variety of colours. The global debut of Urus as Lamborghini’s first-ever SUV was in December 2017. The car manufacturer sold 4,962 units in 2019. Urus is now a major player in Lamborghini’s global product portfolio. This is due to the growing preference for larger SUVs in many markets. Urus was ahead of Huracan’s 2,139 units, while Huracan had 1,104 units. The third most popular model was the Aventador, with 1,104 units.
